Troubleshooting

Printing Problems

The top and bottom of the image are cut when printing a photo displayed as a portrait in the Select Photos window.
Cause Solutions

In the Layout and Print window, the photo is magnified. If you try to fit to the layout without margins (trimming), keeping the same orientation, the top and bottom of the photo are cut off.

To avoid this problem, do one of the following:

- Set the magnification to 100%.

- Rotate the photo horizontally in rotation setting. (The photo is printed horizontally.)

For details, see Adjusting the Position and the Size of Photos.

Some portions of the image (top and bottom or left and right) have been lost.
Cause Solutions

In the Layout and Print window, the photo is magnified.

- Set the magnification to 100%.

For details on size settings, see Adjusting the Position and the Size of Photos.

Does not print using the settings you made.
Cause

If you are using a printer other than an EPSON product, or a printer that does not support EPSON Easy Print Module, images may not print properly.

The top and bottom of the photo are cut off when printing in borderless layout.
Cause Solutions

In borderless printing, after the image is trimmed to the specified print size, the image is magnified by a few mm on all sides. Therefore, the area that extends beyond the paper size is not printed.

In the Layout and Print window, make and preview the Borderless setting.

Auto cut does not appear although you are using a printer with an Automatic Roll Paper Cutter installed.
Cause Solutions
In the Layout and Print window, roll paper is not selected. Because the Auto Cut function only applies to roll paper, it is not shown when you select cut paper. Only Windows supports roll paper.

In the printer driver setting, automatic roll paper cutter is not set.

If you installed Automatic Roll Paper Cutter, you need to make settings to tell the printer driver of the installation. Otherwise, you cannot use this Auto Cut function. For details on making settings in the printer driver, see the printer's documentation.

There is a white border around the edges of the roll paper after printing.
Cause Solutions

In the Select Paper window, the wrong size of roll paper was selected.

If you select roll paper narrower than the data you are printing, white borders appear around the edges. Select the correct paper size.

PRINT Image Matching is not applied to some photos printed.
Cause

PRINT Image Matching setting only applies to photos with PRINT Image Matching information.

A strange gradation sequence appears.
Cause Solutions

If you are printing using the PhotoEnhance settings from the Print Correction dialog box, your printout may have an unnatural gradation sequence in areas of your photo that are out of focus.

Choosing a setting other than PhotoEnhance may reduce the unnatural gradation sequence.

The colors of the printed image are incorrect.
Cause Solutions
PhotoEnhance is selected. With PhotoEnhance, the image data is processed while analyzing the positions of objects in the picture. If you move the objects by adjusting the image with Rotate, Magnification or Move Photo, the colors of the printed image may differ from the original. Also, there might be some color differences between a borderless print and a print with borders because the positions of the objects are slightly different. Choose a setting other than PhotoEnhance to avoid this problem.

A QLD file (Windows) or QLD2 file (Macintosh) that you opened is saved in the older version of EPSON Easy Photo Print.

If Red-Eye Fix (Auto) is selected, unexpected areas could be corrected in some images.

In the Print Correction dialog box, remove the check in Red-Eye Fix (Auto) and select Red-Eye Fix (Manual). Then click and select the position of the red eye.

Note:
PhotoEnhance is automatically selected for some paper types. If you want to print in a mode other than PhotoEnhance, change the setting to PRINT Image Matching or None.
